When it’s okay to drink too much (water): 3 ways to get more of it
September 8, 2010
Sometimes the easiest things to do seem like the hardest. How difficult is it to drink water? But in spite of the incredible benefits {from better functioning to better skin} and the low cost {THE cheapest beauty product around} getting in those 8 glasses can be quite a challenge – at least for me. I need all the energy I can get and there’s no doubt I have more when drinking my H2O. Here are a few things that have helped me increase my intake:
- Enhance the experience: Fill up a pitcher + use a favorite glass {there’s something about making it look nice AND having it easily accessible}. Also, add a hint of flavor if you prefer {see pic below:}

At a recent hotel stay, I snapped this pic of our lobby's water selections (flavored with apple, mint, orange or lemon slices)
- Use a straw: Yes, I’m aware sipping this way can make wrinkles but to me the benefits outweigh this downside. Older but wiser – my “feeling good” has actually surpassed my “looking good” . . . although the two are very close personal motivators! {BTW, there are ways you can sip with minimal damage – try a few variations in front of the mirror.}
- Carry your water everywhere. ORDER TIP: Prepare the night before: Have water bottle filled and ready to go. {Your kids can do this, too.} A benefit: it’s eco-friendly! {This habit will keep you from relying on “convenient” plastic water bottles we tend to grab when rushing out the door – or buy when out and about.}
Here’s to more energy + a better complexion . . . C H E E R S !
